Our 80th Birthday

On 26th May School celebrated its 80th birthday. Our guest of honour was sister Angela who was headteacher at St Joseph’s from 1971 to 1981. The day included a mass for our Upper School led by Fr Chris and our Y4 children focusing on making the most of our talents and doing our ‘best for Jesus’. Lower School liturgy was led by our Y2s with help from Bexs, a Christian youth worker from the Church of the good Shepherd. In the afternoon the children and our guests, including past pupils from St Edward’s enjoyed tea, cake and scones (donated by Renowned Catering) and took part in a tea party on the playground. Everyone was then entertained by our superb St Joseph’s musicians and choir. Guests were then shown around school by our Year 6 children. A display in the hall of St Joseph’s through the ages gave an opportunity for guests to reminisce.
