Our Gospel Values

Our school, while providing a quality education, holds up Christian values to children, inviting them to build their own lives on them. As a school we spent time together to identify those Christian values we promote at our school. These can be viewed here.

Our School Aims

• To offer the best standard of education for each pupil in our care.
• To encourage the development of relationships based on the teachings of Jesus ‘love your neighbour as yourself’.
• To be a centre of excellence for lifelong learning and spiritual growth.
• To support each child in developing responsibility for his or her own learning and motivation to succeed.
• To provide an effective, broad and balanced primary curriculum.
• To equip each child with the skills to meet the demands of a changing society.

Our Mission Statement

As recognised by our recent Inspection by OfSTED our school mission statement is central to the life of the school. Governors, staff, parents and children have worked together to compose a statement that sums up our school and what we strive for

We all belong together in God’s family. We acknowledge that parents are the primary educators of their children and we work together with them to make our school the best place to learn and grow into responsible people of God.

By doing our best we make the most of all our God given talents. We grow physically, in our faith, in our attitudes and relationships, and in our understanding.

‘Together we will do our best for Jesus’

We care for each other, we are kind and help each other, we respect each other, we forgive each other and work for the common good of all.
We do our best in all that we do. We learn about ourselves, relationships and our faith. We learn the skills and knowledge that we will need to take a full and active part in our community.

‘Together’ … because we all belong together in God’s family and we recognise that we must all work together to make our school the best place for our young people to learn and grow into responsible people of God. We acknowledge that parents are the primary educators of their children and are committed to working in partnership with them and the parish in developing all aspects of the child. We care for each other, we are kind and help each other, we respect each other, we forgive each other and work for the common good of all.

‘our best’ … because by doing our best we make the most of all our God given talents. We grow physically, in our faith, in our attitudes and relationships and in our understanding. We do our best in all that we do. We learn about ourselves, relationships and our faith. We learn the skills and knowledge that we will need to take a full an active part in our community.

‘for Jesus’ … because we follow Jesus’ example and show everyone that we are part of God’s family through our attitudes, behaviour and relationships.

At St. Joseph’s School we have three core values that underpin everything we do for the children in our care.

“We are committed”

We want the best for our children. We want them to realise their potential and learn new things every day. We are committed to the education of the whole child.

“We are courteous”

We start each day with a fresh smile and a “good morning.” We nurture respectful relationships in all we do, and everything we do, we do courteously.

“We work in collaboration with each other”

We recognise that life is not a competition. It is about who we are and what we bring to our world. We are a team and together, we will do our best for Jesus.

Let’s journey together, following Christ
